1. Introduction and Our Commitment

This privacy policy applies to the “Migrant-e-s Help” mobile application (Android) and its associated web application, as well as to all related services.

The application is published by theAssociation Pionniers du Changement pour le Développement et la Culture (PCDC), a Moroccan non-profit organization. Our mission is to help and support migrants. Your trust and the protection of your data are at the heart of our commitment.

We undertake to collect only the strict minimum of data necessary for the proper functioning and improvement of our services, in complete transparency.

2. In Brief: The essentials of our policy

For a quick overview, here are the key points:

  • No registration required: Use of the application is anonymous and does not require the creation of an account.
  • No collection of sensitive personal data: We never collect your precise location, contacts, SMS messages or photos. The location is only used for the map and is never stored.
  • Technical data only: Only anonymous technical data is collected to ensure the operation (notifications) and improvement of the application (bug analysis).
  • You stay in control: The information you send us via a form is used only to reply to you. You can manage notifications and the collection of analysis data at any time.
  • We never sell your data: Your data is and will never be sold or used for targeted advertising.

3. What data do we process and why?

A. Information you provide directly to us

When you contact us via a form (request for help, reporting a problem), we collect the information you choose to communicate to us.

  • Data collected: Name, e-mail address, message content.
  • Purpose: Exclusively to process your request, respond to you and provide you with any assistance you may require.
  • Legal basis: Our legitimate interest in providing effective support to our users.

B. Data collected automatically for the proper operation of the application

In order to ensure that the application functions correctly and to improve it, certain third-party services collect technical data anonymously.

  • Location data (for map): If you choose to use the services map, the application uses your position to center the map and display relevant services near you, via our partner Mapbox.
    • Why? Only to make the map interactive and functional. Please note Your location is never collected, recorded or stored by our servers.
  • Usage data: Anonymous statistics on application usage (popular features, session duration) collected via Google Analytics for Firebase.
    • Why? To understand what’s useful and improve the application.
  • Information about your device: Model, operating system and application version.
    • Why? To diagnose and correct bugs more efficiently.
  • Notification data: A unique technical “token” linked to your device is collected by our partner OneSignal.
    • Why? To send you important notifications.
  • Anonymous technical identifiers :
    • Firebase instance ID: An anonymous code that helps us differentiate between application installations, without ever identifying you personally.
    • Android Ad ID: May be collected by Firebase, but we never use it for advertising purposes. It is used for anonymous analysis only.
  • IP address: May be temporarily processed by our partners for security reasons. For users in Europe, OneSignal is configured not to store it.

4. Data sharing: Who has access to your information?

We never sell or share your data for commercial purposes. Sharing is strictly limited to our technical partners, who are essential to the operation of the application.

  • Google LLC (Firebase & Google Analytics): Provides performance analysis and diagnostic tools. Google is committed to complying with the RGPD and other data protection laws.
  • OneSignal, Inc. manages the technical delivery of notifications.
  • Mapbox, Inc: Provides mapping technology to display nearby services. Mapbox processes location data temporarily to provide this service, in accordance with its own privacy policy.

These partners may process data on servers located outside Morocco (notably in the United States), undertaking to comply with strict data protection frameworks (such as the RGPD).

5. Shelf life

We keep data only as long as necessary:

  • Form information: Deleted as soon as your request has been processed and resolved.
  • Anonymous analysis data: retained for statistical analysis for a limited period.

6. Data security

The security of your data is a priority. All information transmitted between the application and our servers is encrypted (via HTTPS/TLS). Access to data is strictly limited to authorized members of our team.

7. Your Rights and Choices

By law, you have control over your data.

  • Right of access, rectification and deletion: You may request access, rectification or deletion of the information you have sent us by contacting us at contact@migranthelp.com.
  • Manage notifications: You can activate or deactivate notifications at any time in your phone’s settings.
  • Manage the advertising ID: You can reset or delete this ID in the privacy settings of your Android device.

8. Children’s privacy

Our application is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information about them.

9. Compliance with Google Play’s “Data Security” section

In full transparency, we declare in the application file on the Google Play Store :

  • Collection: Collection of device identifiers and performance data via SDKs (Firebase, OneSignal, Mapbox).
  • Sharing: Sharing is limited to our technical partners mentioned above.
  • Security: Data is encrypted in transit and we provide a channel for requesting its deletion.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. In the event of a major change, we undertake to inform you directly via the application or by means of a notification.
