From December 20 to 22, 2024, Oujda’s Parc Lalla Aïcha vibrated to the rhythm of African culture at the 3rd edition of the Foire Africaine. Organized by the Association Pionniers du Changement pour le Développement et la Culture, the event brought together a wide range of institutional and associative partners. Parc Lalla Aïcha has been chosen for the third consecutive time to host the Foire Africaine. Its accessibility, cultural and historical significance, and its status as a space open to the whole population of Oujda make it an ideal place to celebrate diversity and encourage exchanges between local communities and migrants.

The Foire Africaine showcased the continent’s cultural diversity with a varied program rich in discoveries: art exhibitions and an Art Gallery where artists from sub-Saharan Africa and Morocco presented their works, testifying to the richness and fusion of cultures. A culinary exhibition gave visitors the chance to sample traditional dishes from the four corners of the continent. An area dedicated to the youngest children offered fun and educational activities, reinforcing the inclusion of Moroccan and migrant families. The ambition of the Foire Africaine goes beyond mere cultural celebration. This event is part of a broader approach aimed at promoting intercultural coexistence, enhancing the cultural and artistic heritage of sub-Saharan African countries and Morocco, encouraging the integration of migrants through entrepreneurial initiatives and exchange spaces, and strengthening community ties by encouraging encounters and sharing between local populations and migrants.

Over the years, the Foire Africaine has established itself as a key event in the Oriental region, fostering synergies between the various players involved in managing migration and promoting living together. With a growing number of participants and an ever-increasing impact, this initiative upholds the values of inclusion, tolerance and cultural development, confirming its essential role in revitalizing the local social and economic fabric.
