Project presentation |
Protection des migrants à l’Oriental: aimed at improving the psycho-social well-being and living together of vulnerable migrants in the city of Oujda-Berkane and Region. PROMO brings together a range of activities based on the principles of living together, interculturality and tolerance… The association Pionniers du Changement pour le Développement et la Culture (PCDC) worked on this project in partnership with the association Maroc Solidarité Médico-Sociale (MS2), so that both partners took part in the project, each according to their own area of expertise. On the one hand, the MS2 association works in the field of psycho-social well-being; in particular, individual psychological support, coordination with care organizations and the protection of migrants. To this end, it has run a mobile psychosocial outreach clinic in various intervention zones for vulnerable migrants. In this way, she provided referrals and counter-referrals to listening units in health centers and to member organizations of the Groupe de Travail et de Protection (GTP). MS2 was also in charge of drawing up and distributing a set of guidelines for the psycho-social care of vulnerable migrants to all those involved in the protection of migrants project. On the other hand, our intervention was mainly based on the “living together” part of the project. Indeed, the activities we supervised were consolidated by the principles of interculturality, coordination and integration of migrants into Moroccan society. This is how the Pionniers du Changement association set up an African fair in its first edition, in which the aforementioned principles are widely considered. In the same vein, it has set up an Oriental Migration Network (RMO) bringing together state institutions and civil society organizations involved in migration in the Oriental region. In addition, the association organized a cultural diversity campaign in schools and social gatherings bringing together Moroccan and sub-Saharan families. Finally, a forum was organized to draw up recommendations for presentation to institutions involved in migration in the Oriental region. |
